THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP AND WESTERN STATES
ENTRIES ARE BOTH LISTED BELOW

THE ENTRY CLOSING DATE FOR THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JULY 14. BOTH LEFTIES AND AND RIGHTIES ARE NEEDED.

NCLHGA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP JULY 26TH & 27TH
SHADOW LAKES CG AND DEER RIDGE CC

If you haven't heard this year we are moving our 2008 Club Championship from the traditional October date to July 26th and 27th. And we'll be playing a couple of very nice courses in Brentwood, Shadow Lakes and Deer Ridge. With it being the height of summer play the weather should be fantastic and the courses in excellent shape.
Lefty/Guest Team Format
As we did the last few years we're combining our traditional Lefty Championship with a Lefty/Guest best ball tournament. The lefty's ball, if participating in the Team competition, will count for both the Championship and the Team tournament scores. Each lefty must choose to sign up for only the Championship or the Championship and Team play. For clarification the guest partner of the Lefty/Guest BB tournament cannot be a current NCLHGA member. Also, when there is a differential of more than 10 strokes, (based on course handicap), between partners the higher handicap player will be reduced to maintain the 10 strokes maximum per team.

The entry cutoff date for the Championship has been extended to July 14th.

James Cup and NCGA Qualifiers
In addition to the club championship for the NCLHGA there will also be qualifying for two other events. One is for the 2009 Domestic James Cup tournament team in February at Barona Creek Golf Club. This tournament pits a selected team from the NCLHGA against one comprised of other lefty chapters from the US and Canada in a Ryder Cup type format. The low net and low gross field winners of this CC will receive invitations to be the co-captains of the team. The other event is qualifying for the NCGA Associate Club Tournaments. To be eligible for these spots you must also be a member of the NCLHGC (the Club), a separate organization from the NCLHGA, which is an NCGA affiliate club.
Tournament Information

Both days will be modified shotguns starting at 8:00 AM. Immediately following Sunday's round will be a lunch buffet and the awards presentation. Also during the awards luncheon a brief annual membership business meeting will be conducted. Format for both days will be full handicap using July's index. In addition to the usual flight prizes we'll have closest-to-the-pin awards for all par 3's each day. For those interested in participating in skins/deuces wagering there will be a tournament representative with a sign up sheet available Saturday morning prior to the start of the tournament.
Lefty Points Race
Since this is the Club Championship double points are available for lefties to earn in the season long Lefty Points Race. At the end of the season, top point earners will be receiving some great prizes and gifts. So be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to pad your point total.
Lodging Options
Because of the central location of the courses this is being considered a commuter tournament. However, if you would like to reserve lodging here are three recommendations all within 15 minutes of the courses.

· Holiday Inn Express - 8820 Brentwood Blvd. Brentwood, CA; (925) 634-6400; www.hiexpress.com
