2017 ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Three nines as distinct as the grape varietals they are named after – Merlot, Chardonnay and Zinfandel – sweep through 3,000 acres of the toasted, savannah-covered hills that roll through Wine Country. “It was a rugged piece of property,” Jones said. “It had fantastic views.” But just one tree – a valley oak near the eighth hole of the Chardonnay nine.
The routing at Poppy Ridge is clever in that all three nines close with a lakeside green in front of the majestic hacienda-style clubhouse. While the nines finish similarly, each is unique, as there is nearly 300 feet of elevation change between them.
Some recent reviews from players:
This was an excellent course. Great contrast between the front nine and the back nine. The front nine was relatively flat with beautiful water hole and great view looking up the mountain. The back nine was more mountainous with a wonderful view overlooking the valley. Because of this contrast, shot making is a premium.
This is the best golf course I know. Great design. Walkable, Great condition. Smoothe, fast greens. Beautiful views. Great staff. Good food. Excellent range. AND really reasonable price. This course is really something special!!!
The North Course reopened after an extensive reconstruction effort - which transformed the course into one of the premier championship length golf courses in the North Bay. The North 18 holes are a first-rate public golf course able to compete on price and quality of greens and course conditions with anyone in our region. The new design for the North Course promotes golfer-friendliness, but can offer the most skilled golfer multiple challenges if he or she chooses to take the necessary risks. If you’re a golfer who enjoys a good test of golf, the North Course can give you that tournament quality experience.
Located in Walnut Creek, Boundary Oak Golf Course boasts an 18-hole championship golf course, a driving range and practice area with putting and chipping greens, the perfect venue for Golf Tournaments, weddings, banquets, golf lessons, clinics and camps.
The event facilities include one of the best club houses and restaurants in the East Bay for weddings, wedding receptions, tournaments, banquets and special events. Besides offering stunning views of the Concord and San Ramon Valley area, the course and restaurant offer unique facilities for weddings, banquets, corporate outings, Sunday and Holiday brunches, bridal faires, rehearsal dinners and bridal showers.

Creek Country Club
Silver Oak: Located just 25 minutes south of Reno and 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe. The course offers 5 sets of tees but the Par-71 layout is 6,564 yards from the tournament tees. Nestled against the high desert hillside, dramatic elevation changes on the opening nine holes produce unparalleled scenic views of the valley. At times wildlife is abundant as the course and nature embrace. The finishing nine offer a unique contrast to the front. Sierra Mountain views to the south, lakes, and longer holes wind you through the Silver Oak master planned community. Silver Oak Golf Course has consistently been voted Carson City's best since 2006.
The Golf Club at Gray’s Crossing: Is a Peter Jacobsen/Jim Hardy designed championship golf course nestled in Truckee, California. At Gray’s Crossing, golfers will experience “a return to tradition,” as the course meets golf enthusiasts’ demands to play a course with a traditional, private club feel. Fast greens and tournament-like conditions await golfers every day. Demanding a combination of creative club choices and tactical strategies, the Jacobsen design reveals his passion for fun, yet challenging play. Towering Lodgepole and Jeffrey Pines line the fairways as the course weaves through a natural mountain surrounding with Mt. Rose as its backdrop. When calculating each shot, the environment plays as much a role as the course.
The Club at Arrow Creek:The Club at ArrowCreek is a two-course complex in Reno with some of the biggest old names in golf behind it. Arnold Palmer designed The Legend Course and Fuzzy Zoeller is one of the men behind The Challenge Course. Both Legend and Challenge feature forced carries galore, gnarly tall grasses that sway in the Nevada breeze and fast greens with more swerve than a racing motorcycle. ArrowCreek Membership Director Drew Yardley says the greens "run a very true 11 to 11 1/2" on the Stimpmeter. You'll just know that you will have the chance to sink long putts if you do your due dilegence on the reads. Of course, chances are, you'll be caught up in the views. ArrowCreek lets you look down on the city of Reno and its downtown casinos on several holes. No. 14 on The Challenge Course is particularly memorable. Here, you can look across the twisting fairway (you're playing a tough dogleg) and look at the top of casinos like the Peppermill at eye level.

Black Horse Golf Course
1 McClure Way
Seaside, CA 93955
Bayonet and Black Horse re-opened in December, 2008 after a $13 million renovation by Bates Golf Design Group (Gene Bates). Both courses underwent dramatic view-shed alterations and hole re-routings to reveal new, breathtaking ocean vistas and improved playing options (including new bentgrass greens). They were included in Golf Digest's "Best New Courses" issue for 2009 in the ultra-competitive "Remodel" category. Black Horse, a 7,024-yard, par-72 layout, features sweeping vistas of the Pacific and is highlighted by fescue-framed fairways, bunkers with distinctive, serrated edges and slickly-contoured greens. The par-3 15th, created during the renovation, faces the bay and is sure to emerge as one of the great holes on the Peninsula.
