3/23 We have the first tourney of 2018 under our belt. The weather could have been much worse than we had on Wednesday. Heavy drizzle was about the most that was seen during our round at Silverado. Wanted to welcome the new members that joined us at Silverado and hope to see them out with us at upcoming events. Next up is Callippe Preserve. The results from Wednesday have been updated on the TOURNEY RESULTS and POINTS RACE pages and the entry for Callippe has also been put up.
2/28 Unfortunately bad news was sent to me this morning. Our dear lefty friend, Rich Shuteroff, AKA MUSTACHE MAN, has passed on. Rich was 79 years old to turn 80 in May. He will be greatly missed. Everyone always enjoyed his company on the course and looked forward to seeing his mustache each month at our events. RIP Rich. Someone above must have needed a 4th for his group.
12/11 Well the final tournament of 2017 was played last week at Yocha Dehe Golf Club. We had low to mid 60's for weather and it was absolutley perfect considering it was December. Our Lefty Points Race Championship low round of the day went to Emmett Berg with a net 66. Next was Taaque T. who shot a net 68. Congrats to you both. The leader going into the Championship was Jim Dalton and he barely held onto that spot by the end of the day. Results have been updated and the 2018 schedule has been finalized and updated on the website as well. Here is wishing each of you and your families a very Happy Holiday Season. May you have safe travels where ever you may be heading. Most importantly... KEEP IT ON THE SHORT GRASS!!
11/7 Who could ask for better weather than we had in Monterey today to play Black Horse Golf Course?? It was breath taking views of Monterey Bay and other than the greens which seemed to have collected everyone's golf balls on each green it was a perfect day!! The results are up on the website and our final Points Race Championship at Yocha Dehe is on the horizon in a few weeks. Should be another great event to end another year of golf for Nocal Lefties. Hope you can join us for Yocha Dehe, it is a spectacular track.
11/5 Well after a trip down under for the Lefty World tournament I got reminded that I did not put up the results from our Club Championship here at home before I left. It was a battle on Sunday with 30 mph winds and slick greens. Congrats to Mike O'Brien and Jack Delore for sticking it out and taking home the Gross and Net Club Championship honors. The pages have been updated. We have the Turkey Shoot this week at Black Horse in Monterey which should be another good time.
10/5 Another oops... thought I had posted the Western States results but had not. They are up on the website now along with the POINTS RACE page going into the Lefty Club Championship.
8/20 Wow.... was I behind or what? I have finally got the Boundary Oak and Monarch Bay results up on the website. Sorry about the delay! Anyway, it has all been updated. Only about 2 weeks until we tee it up in Reno!
5/28 Well another event for 2017 under out belts. What a great track we played this week in Foxtail. The course was in good shape and a fun layout. 3/23 Welcome to 2017. Did not realize I have not updated this news page yet this year, sorry. We played the opening event of 2017 this week at Poppy Ridge and all went well. We had some good rain for a few holes but kind of have to expect that in March. Who knows, with the weather we have had this winter it might have snowed!! Anyway, the TOURNEY RESULTS and POINTS RACE pages are updated with the results from Poppy Ridge. Thanks to everyone who came out. Up next is San Juan Oaks in the south bay. The entry has been updated on the home page.

8/15 The website is in long need of an update. Sorry everyone, its been a really busy summer and life got in the way. The Oehler Cup at Eagle Vines as well as DeLaveaga events have both been updated on the TOURNEY RESULTS and POINTS RACE pages. Both events had reports of a good time and the Celebration of Life for Jim Chisum was a very nice ceremony. If you have winnings due from DeLaveaga they will be on the way shortly. Thanks for your patience.
5/29 Well we tackled the mighty Whitney Oaks Golf Club this week and had a great time. The weather was perfect and the course gave everyone some challenges that is for sure. For those of us who had never played it, it was definitely a course management type golf course. The results have been posted on the TOURNEY RESULTS and POINTS RACE pages. In addition to the results, the next event has been posted which will be the Oehler Cup event on June 25 & 26 @ Eagle Vines. Following play on Sunday will be the Celebration of Life for Jim Chisum so hope you can join us even if you are unable to play in the tournament. Also updated and finally published is this years Western States in September. Make sure to get your partner lined up and join us for the 3 great venues we have lined up.

4/17/2016 On behalf of lefties everywhere it is sad to have to pass the message along that our longtime friend and Norcal Lefty Treasurer Jim Chisum has passed away. Jim has been a valued member of the Norcal Lefties since 2001 and Treasurer since 2007. Jim's jovial chuckle and smile will be greatly missed at our outings. He was a dear friend to everyone he met. Please keep Cynthia and their family in your thoughts and prayers.
